Description

The Tomatin 14 Year Old Port Casks is a Highland single malt whisky introduced to the core range in 2014. It is matured for 12 years in refill American oak ex-bourbon casks before undergoing a further two-year maturation in first-fill European oak ex-Port casks, specifically 50-year-old tawny port pipes sourced from Symington Family Vineyards in Portugal's Upper Duoro Valley. This finishing process imparts a wine-like sweetness and rich, fruity character to the whisky. It is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and has natural color.

Big, powerful, fruity, and spicy with notes of honeydew melon, red berries, baked apples, rich toffee, butterscotch, honey, and a touch of dark chocolate. Aromas of port, graham cracker, smoke, crystallized sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and toasted nuts are also present.
Palate
Salivating lashings of succulent fruit, nutty praline, smooth vanilla, and oak. Rich and smooth with flavors of red berries, dark chocolate, spice, cream, strawberry, honeydew, honeysuckle, toasted almonds, hazelnuts, fine wood, and puff pastry.
Finish
Smooth and fruity, lingering on the palate with notes of grass, smoke, sour cherry, and a long, spicy character.
