Description

A Highland malt distillery that for a time during the 1970s was the largest in Scotland. In 1986 it became the first Japanese-owned Scotch distillery when it was acquired by Takara Shuzo Co and under its ownership today it provides fillings for the Antiquary blend as well as its single malt brands.

Mirabelles on syrup, soaked raisins, ripe plums and red berries, sandalwood, oak polish, baked bananas, soft herbal and spicy notes (juniper, mint), red fruits, apricots, melons, dark chocolate, nuts, toast, honey, vanilla, hint of furniture polish.
Palate
Sweet and fruity, sherry character, pink grapefruit, tropical fruits (mango, honeydew melon, papaya), coconut cream, herbs, liquorice, woodiness, peppery feeling, mouthwatering and creamy, oak, light licorice, cocoa powder.
Finish
Slightly shorter than expected, mint, spicy notes, dark chocolate, pepper, herbs, oak, fruit, hints of mint and ginger.
