Description

A glorious old single malt from Tomintoul, independently bottled by Gordon & MacPhail. Distilled in 2001, this whisky spent 24 years maturing in a refill American hogshead that was cracked open in 2025, yielding 263 cask-strength bottles for the Connoisseurs Choice collection. This extremely limited single-cask Scotch is soft and smooth, in a refined, non-peated style – a gentle dram.

Nose
Soft and elegant, with orchard fruits, honeyed vanilla fudge and gentle oak spice. Rich citrus notes lead to poached pear and watermelon. Vibrant citrus, red apple and mango, with roasted peanuts and a floral undertone.
Palate
Silky and layered with baked apple, toffee cream, subtle white pepper and candied citrus. Sweet clementine gives way to red apple. Toasted almonds combine with pineapple with a hint of grapefruit. Sweet poached pear and butterscotch lead to desiccated coconut.
Finish
Medium-long with a lingering touch of grapefruit peel. Full with lasting exotic fruit. Medium-bodied with lasting fresh tropical fruit and citrus and mature oak.
