Description

Connoisseurs Choice is one of the most easily recognised ranges from the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail. This range was launched by George Urquhart in the 1960s, a period where most malts were used in blends, making it an unusual move for the company. This 17-year-old Tormore was distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2024 at 60.9% ABV from a single bourbon cask (#703012) for Gordon & MacPhail's Connoisseurs Choice series, yielding 211 bottles. It captures Speyside in its more expressive mood, with ripe orchard fruit lifted by vanilla oak and a quiet thread of spice, finishing long, warm and elegantly composed. Medium-bodied with spice and a hint of aniseed.
