Description

Tovess Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a classic Islay single malt, produced on one of Scotland's southernmost Inner Hebridean islands. It is crafted with soft, natural island spring water and dried over barley with peat smoke, resulting in a distinctive character. Matured in American oak casks previously used for bourbon, this whisky offers notes of peaty smokiness, crisp fruity notes, and a long-lasting sweet smoke finish, reminiscent of fresh sea air and sweet malted cereal.

Nose
A slightly subdued and ashy dry smoke with contrasting over-ripe peaches and under-ripe green apples. It also presents punchy, smoky, and ashy notes, with hints of TCP, medicinal qualities, sweet fruitiness, honey, and floral heathery notes.
Palate
Initially thin and watery, it quickly develops into smokiness and peat, with TCP vibes, caramels, and honeys. Some detect bitter peat, fudge, mineral dustiness, and a medicinal peat reminiscent of Laphroaig, as well as sooty and soily notes with a medicinal metallic peat.
Finish
A long-lasting sweet smoke finish. It can be quite thin and almost non-existent for some, while others note a slight menthol finish, possibly the lightest peated finish.
