Description

A Highland malt distillery built in 1949 by William Delmé-Evans and located in the Perthshire town of Blackford. It has mostly been owned by blending companies over the years and even today primarily provides fillings to the Highland Queen label, however single malt has always been available too. This 1988 Vintage Edition was released to commemorate the 500th Anniversary of King James IV's coronation.

Nose
Honeyed with a light touch of caramel, faint smoke with a sherry-like accent, malt, vanilla, carnations, peaches, custard, and dried fruit.
Palate
Oily cigar smoke presence, honey, vanilla, sweet and fruity with toffee, lively spices, herbal notes, solid barley sugar sweetness, caramel, vanilla fudge, and marzipan.
Finish
Reminiscent of sherry-finished whiskies, cereal, spice, white chocolate, long and sweet with an oily note, soft oak, and light floral notes.
