Description

A sweet and spicy Speyside blended malt Scotch whisky matured in ex-Bourbon and American Oak barrels. Vega is part of the constellation Lyra, the brightest star in the sky, 25 light years from Earth, twice the heat and size of the sun. Vega will be the next Polaris, North Star in 500,000 years.

Nose
Freshly roasted coffee, sticky sherry and a whiff of rancio. A somewhat dry, very pronounced sherry influence, with a bit of dustiness. Cherry syrup, blackcurrants, crème de cassis, nutty notes, leather, and cigar tobacco. A cocktail of assorted berries, dried fruits, rich sherry notes, coffee and caramel with a slight burnt edge.
Palate
Chocolate ganache, tobacco, sherried citrus peels and spicy cinnamon. Latte macchiato, dark chocolate, praline, black pepper, nutmeg. Medium to light body with assorted berries, dried fruits, caramel with light spiciness, honey and nuts.
Finish
Very long, with notes of mocha and oily walnut. Lingering chocolatiness. Medium long finish with more nuts, honey, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, milk chocolate, and bitter orange.
