One of Glasgow's Premier Independent Whisky Bottling Companies, North Star Spirits was established in 2016 by Iain Croucher. They are dedicated to unearthing hidden gems within the Scotch Whisky realm, meticulously curating casks and spirits. This Vega release is a 41 Year Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, distilled in 1976 and bottled in 2017. It was matured in a Sherry Cask and is a single cask release with an outturn of 280 bottles. It is non-chill filtered and bottled at cask strength.

Mellow and floral with subtle maritime influence, Parma violets, sand dunes, beach grass, heather, orange, cream, honey, dark and red fruits like blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, menthol, chocolates, caramel, leather, fresh oranges, dried figs, nutmeg, cloves, ripe bananas, guava, melon, papaya, baked apples in custard, aged sweet wines (Marsala, Sauternes), warm banana bread, walnuts, sultanas, and cognac.
Palate
Medium-bodied and syrupy with maritime notes, floral elements, melon, orange, hibiscus, hints of tobacco and balsamic, cream, sweet dark fruits, prunes, menthol, resin, spice, leather, oak, honey, cacao, and dark chocolates.
Finish
Long and lingering with floral candies, candied fruit, salt, spices, vanilla, salted caramel, liquorice, dark chocolate, lemon, herbal notes, jasmine, aromatic teas, and a touch of liquorice and nibbling wood spice.
