Description

A historic Kentucky distillery and the oldest still operating in the state. It is the flagship production facility of the Sazerac Company and in addition to its eponymous straight bourbon, also produces a host of brands such as Pappy Van Winkle, Col. E.H. Taylor, Eagle Rare, Weller and Sazerac Rye. A historic brand of wheated Kentucky straight bourbon. It is marketed by the Sazerac Company and produced at the Buffalo Trace Distillery. This 2016 release is part of the prestigious Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, bottled at barrel proof, uncut and unfiltered, using wheat instead of rye in the mashbill.

Rich and creamy with flavors of marshmallow, salted almonds, nougat, figs, dates, butterscotch, shortbread, Muscovado sugar, flat cola, juicy orange, toasted bread, French butter cookies, sticky vanilla bean, bittersweet chocolate, refined oak, and a subtle black pepper spice.

Long and warming, full of oak and peppery spice, with lingering hints of citrus, cinnamon candied almonds, butter cookies, dried figs, clove, dried tobacco, and vanilla.
