Description

This Single Farm edition is crafted using barley from the Lacken farm in Co. Wexford and Irish peat harvested in County Kildare. Heavily peated (57 ppm), this single malt expresses a vivid, saline, oily, and robust peat character, balanced by notes of white fruits, green tea, and hay that bring remarkable freshness. It is part of Waterford Distillery's Arcadian Farm Origins series, focusing on terroir-driven whisky production. The whisky was aged for 3 years, 9 months, and 10 days in a mix of American oak first-fill ex-bourbon, French ex-Vin Doux Naturel, virgin American oak, and French oak casks. It is non-chill filtered and has no added color.

Nose
Powerful and nuanced. Vibrant peat, fresh smoke like a spring morning frost. A coastal walk with hints of iodine and oyster shells. Sweeter with barley sugar, orchard fruits (apple and pear skin), and warm hay.
Palate
Full-bodied and velvety. Grist, driftwood, campfire, and creosote. Sheep's wool and Lapsang Souchong tea. Juiciness comes in the form of white peach and apple sauce. Oily, with bonfire smoke and earthy tea followed by apple pastries and sweet, juicy stone fruits.
Finish
Complex cigar tobaccos, green tea and tar. Long with more of the spices and comforting bonfire tones emerging. Pipe smoke, herbal tea, tar, and charred oak.
