Description

The Wee Broon Electric Coo is a 'Supergroup - Campbeltown Blended Malt' resulting from a collaboration between independent bottlers Andrew Smith from Little Brown Dog, Mark and Kate Watt from Watt Whisky, and David Stirk from Stirk Brothers. The name is a hybrid representing each member: Wee Broon for Little Brown Dog, Electric for Watt Whisky, and Coo for Stirk Brothers. This blend comprises single malts from all current Campbeltown distilleries, including Glen Scotia 7 & 8 year old first fill bourbon barrels, Kilkerran 16 year old refill hogshead, and Springbank 12 & 21 year old refill sherry casks. It was released for the 2024 Campbeltown Malts Festival, is non-chill filtered, and retains its natural colour. Only 525 bottles were released globally.

Nose
Dusty, chalk, lemon meringue, lemon curd, basque cheesecake, elderflower, papaya, honeydews, waxy apricot & peach, with hints of salted butter, soft rose petal, and a soft musty peat smoke.
Palate
Chewy, rich, and silky with notes of high-end marmalade, tinned peaches, and a distinct Campbeltown funk. Creamy passion fruit compote, warm sponge cake, and a slight industrial note are balanced by honeyed malt, vanilla, sea salt, black pepper, and tropical fruits.
Finish
Long and lingering with sweet peat, marmite & butter on brown toast, sweet tangy oranges, and notes of orange and melon, finishing with baking spice and soft oak.
