Description

An independent bottling of Westport, a teaspooned blended malt from Thompson Bros. Distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2021, this 24-year-old whisky is from a famous Highland distillery (often identified as Glenmorangie) with a small quantity of another malt added. Only 176 bottles were released.

Ripe pears, peaches, ripe gooseberries, orange oil, waxy honey, vanilla fudge, malt and grain notes, apricots, and subtle mineral/oily notes.
Palate
Honeyed, with hints of peach and stewed quinces, almonds, grassy notes, subtle herbal notes, honeysuckle, waxed lemons, yellow apples with cinnamon dusting, and peppery oak. Also notes of biscuits, grain, and spicy ginger.
Finish
Medium to long, with marmalade, honeyed tea, warming oak, vanilla cake, salty notes, salted nuts, and lemons.
