Description

A powerful early batch release of Wild Turkey Rare Breed Barrel Proof (Batch WT-03RB) representing the bold, unfiltered character of Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey. Bottled at barrel proof without dilution, it captures the full intensity and depth of carefully selected aged barrels from the Wild Turkey rickhouses. This batch delivers a rich and assertive aromatic profile, with notes of deep caramel, toasted oak, vanilla extract, baking spice, dark fruit, orange peel, and smoky charred wood. On the palate, it is full-bodied and concentrated, offering layers of burnt sugar, toffee, cinnamon, black pepper spice, and rich oak tannin, balanced by a lingering sweetness and warming heat.

Nose
A mint leaf on a little piece of lemon, then the bourbon classics: vanilla and caramel. Oak wood underlines the nose wonderfully. Nuts and figs are very indistinct in the background. Also, deep caramel, toasted oak, vanilla extract, and baking spice, followed by hints of dark fruit, orange peel, and smoky charred wood.
Palate
Fantastic. The mint and the lemon dominate in the beginning and are then gradually replaced by caramel and oak spice. Full-bodied and concentrated, offering layers of burnt sugar, toffee, cinnamon, black pepper spice, and rich oak tannin, balanced by a lingering sweetness and warming heat.
Finish
Great finish. Long, spicy, vanilla and very pleasant warmth. Long, warm and nutty and lingers in the mouth with hints of hot peppers and well-toasted whole wheat bread.
