Description

Showcasing the traditional art of teaspooning, this dramatic Islay malt celebrates the region's peated character. After distillation the whisky was matured for 13 long years in refill bourbon barrels, mellowing the peat and lending welcome vanillins. A member of independent bottler Living Soul's Batch 1 inaugural release. Notes of smoked almonds and sea spray. This bold 'Williamson' is a teaspooned 13-year-old Islay blended malt, matured in refill bourbon casks, that transports you to a windswept cove at dusk, where driftwood crackles on a campfire and the sea mist hangs heavy in the air. It offers vibrant notes of campfire smoke, sea mist, and smoked almonds, balanced by bright lemon zest. Bottled without chill-filtration or artificial colouring by Living Souls.

Nose
Fresh and coastal with sea spray, brine, clean vanilla, bright citrus (orange zest, lime), freshly baked shortbread, warm butter, gentle cereal sweetness, and salted liquorice. Peat is atmospheric rather than dominant.
Palate
Salted liquorice, salmiak, coastal brine, barrel-aged maple syrup, streaky smoked bacon, cherry bonbons, and orange bitters. Peat supports rather than commands.
Finish
Medium-long and satisfying. Salmiak lingers alongside manuka honey and warm oatmeal porridge, with a pleasant viscous mouthfeel, gentle sweetness, and soft smoke.
