Wire Works Whisky from White Peak Distillery is Derbyshire's very first Single Malt. Commissioned in early 2018 with the first distillation taking place in April that year, it wasn't until February 2022 when their first Wire Works Whisky was released. The 'Wire Works' name comes from the sight of the distillery, as it's built on the former Johnson & Nephew wire works on the banks of the river Derwent. This is a limited, high-strength Distillery Exclusive release, matured in a virgin oak cask, offering a unique, intense flavor profile, generally available only at the Derbyshire distillery shop. The distillery's motto, 'VIRTUS PATIENTA VERITUS' (the virtue of patience and truth), is displayed on the neck label [27].
