Description

Wolfburn Aurora is a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, the distillery's second single malt release, launched in 2016. It is part of their core range. The whisky is matured in a combination of casks: 40% in second-fill quarter casks, 40% in first-fill bourbon barrels, and 20% in first-fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads. It benefits from long fermentation (roughly 75 hours) and slow, gentle distillation. Bottled at 46% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and has natural color. The spirit is unpeated and aims for a balanced profile where sherry sweetness complements the light Highland character. It has received awards, including 92 points at the 2017 Ultimate Spirits Challenge and a Silver at the 2017 International Wine & Spirit Competition.
