Description

A single malt, small batch release from Wolfburn distillery, Thurso. The lightly peated spirit was matured for 7 years in butts previously used to age Pedro Ximenex sherry. The small batch of 5100 bottles was released for the worldwide market in 2022 and quickly sold out.

Nose
Rich and sweet-smelling with baking spices, molasses, espresso, dark cherries and a hint of bonfire. Treacle and coffee notes lead the way, accompanied by subtle tones of cherry and dried spice.
Palate
Nuts galore, almonds and hazelnuts mingle with pungent smoke, dried fruit, treacle and spices. Hazelnut, almonds and cloves are all present, wonderfully overlaid with soft peat smoke.
Finish
Sweetness and smoke linger on. Treacle sweetness remains present until the end accompanied by hints of spice. A trace of peat smoke continues to lingers when all else is gone.
