Description

Situated on Scotland's rugged north coast, the Wolfburn distillery was first established in 1821, with the modern distillery opening in 2013. This Small Batch No. 204 is the fifth small-batch single malt scotch whisky release from Wolfburn. It was matured for five years in first-fill bourbon barrels, then finished for six months in fresh Madeira hogsheads. This release produced 5,800 bottles and was bottled in 2020. It is non-chill filtered and has natural color.

Nose
Rich desert-wine aromas are readily present, augmented by deep bourbon sweetness.
Palate
Sweet and full – give it time and a whole array of flavours unfurl. Gentle notes of burnt sugar lead the way, overlaid with hints of soft oak and vanilla tones. Hazelnut and gentle hints of orange are present too.
Finish
Sweet tones linger on the palate and gradually melt away, leaving a wee trace of honey and butterscotch at the very end.
