Description

A Malt whisky distillery in the northerly reaches of Scotland's Highland region. It was established in 2013 and was constructed upon the same site that the original Wolfburn distillery had stood in the early 19th century. The name is derived from the nearby water source. This release was aged for 8 years, first in ex-bourbon casks and then in first-fill Sauternes wine casks from France.

Nose
Fresh, grassy, and green like a spring meadow, with notes of lime, green grapes, nectarine, and pineapple sponge cake. There are also intensive banana, honey, milk chocolate, and fruity peach notes. [2, 5]
Palate
Creamy, with nectarine, hints of passionfruit yogurt, and honey, meeting a surprisingly dry oaky spice. A touch of rye bread and beer-like notes come through. Sweet and fruity, with cherry, banana, apricot, and passion fruit. [2, 5]
Finish
Medium, with a gentle tingle and warming feel, light spice, and a hint of oak. Also, a lot of banana, paired with white grapes and hints of sage and anise. [2, 5]
