Description

Woodford Reserve Distiller's Select is a refined small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey, known for its rich, layered complexity and velvety texture. It is crafted from a mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley, and aged in new charred oak barrels. The bourbon is a blend of pot still distillate from the Woodford Reserve Distillery and column still distillate from the Brown-Forman Distillery. Launched in 1996, it is bottled at 45.2% ABV (90.4 proof) and is a flagship expression of the brand.

Nose
Heavy with rich dried fruit, hints of mint and oranges covered with a dusting of cocoa. Faint vanilla and tobacco spice. Also notes of vanilla, toasted oak, caramel, hazelnut, baking chocolate, honey, and orange zest.
Palate
Rich, chewy, rounded and smooth, with complex citrus, cinnamon and cocoa. Toffee, caramel, chocolate and spice notes abound. Flavors of vanilla, honey, and citrus with a thin layer of rye and oak. Banana bread, blanched walnuts, caramel apple, and cinnamon baking spice.
Finish
Silky smooth, almost creamy at first with a long, warm satisfying tail. Lingers with gentle spice and polished sweetness. Medium length with cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa, and dried fruit.
