Nose
Rich and opulent, with raisins, figs, dates, dark fruit cake and bittersweet dark chocolate, plum and cherry. Intense Oloroso sherry, sultana raisins and prunes, light cinnamon and clove, sweet Christmas cake.
Palate
Heavy and thick, with rich, sweet fruit and fruit cake, touches of bitter barrel char, sweet and sour cherry notes. Dry with cooked dried cherries and plums, intense spices (cinnamon, pepper, clove), Christmas pudding, prunes, figs, burnt toffee. Dark chocolate, orange peel.
Finish
Long, with sweet-and-sour cherry, bitter dark chocolate and developing oak tannins. Lingering mint jelly freshness. Dried fruit sweetness with nuttiness, oak, dark chocolate, and spice. Spicy at the end with pepper.
