This Yamazaki single malt whisky is part of 'The Essence of Suntory Whisky' series, specifically the 2009 vintage 'Golden Promise' expression. Distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2021, it is crafted using the rare Golden Promise barley cultivar and matured in American oak casks. This limited edition release was initially available only in bars in Japan.

Mellow aromas with barley sweetness and honey, notes of raisin, oatmeal cookies, macadamia nuts, dried citrus, earth, grass, white chocolate, roasted nuts, woodsy, malty pastries, and maple.
Palate
Rich and oily with honeyed sweetness, faint acidity, prunes, pecan butter, walnut brittle, citrusy oils and rind, dried grass, mellow earth, white chocolate, malty pastries, and a touch of pepper. It offers a velvety, full-bodied mouthfeel with vanilla, subtle spice, orchard fruits, and ginger.
Finish
Creamy and lingering with sweetness, acidity, nutty pastries, sweet citrus, floral notes of elderflower and neroli, soft oak, vanilla custard, butterscotch, and a whisper of white pepper.
