At 58.7% ABV, this is a high-strength single malt, and the sweet Pedro Ximenez character gives that strength a compelling companion. Rich sherry, raisins and dark fruit lead into chocolate, spice and dried fruit, with oak carrying through to a long, warming finish. I’m drawn to the balance of concentrated sweetness and spice here; it sounds generous without relying on sweetness alone.
