The fruit gives this Auchentoshan its appeal: lemon zest on the nose leads into white peach and yellow fruit on the palate, with grapefruit and lemon returning in the finish. Vanilla and coconut run alongside those brighter notes, while caramel and light cinnamon add a warmer counterpoint. It sounds lively without losing its softer edges, and the citrus-led finish suits my preference for fruit-forward character. A pleasingly clear combination, with enough sweetness to keep the sharper notes in balance.
