Ballechin Small Batch Bottling - Cask Strength Edition 18 Year Old, Bourbon Cask, Batch No. 001, 2023, 50.9%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

89 / 100

The long, lingering dry-smoky finish is the clearest draw here: the nose pairs sweet honey with peat smoke and iodine. On the palate, subtle vanilla and oak spice meet barley sugar and exotic fruits before robust peat smoke returns alongside pomegranate and leather. That move from sweetness to smoke gives the whisky a clear arc, while the long finish should suit anyone who values lingering character.
