Balvenie A Day of Dark Barley 26 Year Old, First Fill Bourbon Cask, Cask #6905, 2020, 47.8%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

It’s presented as unpeated, though that label alone doesn’t establish a completely smoke-free character. The documented character puts the emphasis elsewhere: malty sweetness and vanilla toffee meet ginger and oak spice, which sounds nicely balanced.
