Bardstown Bourbon Company Collaborative Series: Ferrand 6 Year Old, Cognac Cask, 2025, 55.9%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

87 / 100

The unpeated label is a signpost, not a smoke meter, and the tasting notes don’t specify a smoke level. What they do offer is an appealing fruit-and-spice thread: blackcurrant on the nose gives way to grilled peaches, pecan pie and cinnamon glaze on the palate. Dried apricot and lemon balm keep the finish bright, with leather adding a drier edge. Plenty to explore without needing to guess at smoke.
