The Oloroso sherry cask is part of the picture, but the documented character leans more clearly toward peat, dark chocolate, spice and dried fruit than toward a distinct oak note. That contrast sounds intriguing: the dark berries, dates and raisins bring sweetness alongside the bolder, peated side. I’d be curious to see the oak influence described more directly, but the balance of smoky depth and fruit gives this a clear point of view.
