The Foursquare rum-cask reference gives this English single malt a clear point of interest, and the listed Bourbon & Rum cask types keep the cask angle central without specifying a sequence. The notes move from vanilla and caramel into Christmas cake, ripe bananas and orange marmalade, then finish with nutmeg-led spice and tropical fruit sweetness. That shift from rich sweetness to spice appeals to me. I’d have liked more detail on the cask arrangement, but the flavour progression gives plenty to consider.
