There’s a nice balance here between the sweeter notes and the peppery edge: honey, vanilla and chocolate on the nose, then apricot, butter, pepper and oak on the palate. The finish brings toffee apple, pecan and caramel, which gives the description a rounded close. I tend to enjoy bourbon where oak and spice have a clear place without taking over, so this sounds appealingly measured rather than all sweetness.
