Braes of Glenlivet 32 Year Old, Wine Cask, 1991, Murray McDavid, 41.1%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

Forest fruit and lingering berries give this a clear fruit-led thread, while creamy malt keeps the palate from feeling one-dimensional. Floral honey adds a softer edge, and the oily, creamy-cereal finish sounds like a satisfying contrast to the fruit. The notes suggest a focused combination rather than lots of separate turns; that restrained shape suits my preference for fruit character without needing the fruit to stand alone.
