90 / 100

The smoke is a clear centre of gravity here: peat and smoke run from the nose through to a finish described as a peat blast. I like that this isn’t presented as smoke alone, with citrus, honey and vanilla on the nose and sweet, spicy notes on the palate giving it some counterweight. The finish sounds dry and earthy, with sweet ash and salt still in the mix. For someone who wants smoke to be unmistakable, this looks like a compelling, firmly peated style.
