Buchanan's Black & White, Bourbon & Sherry Cask, 43.4%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

84 / 100

This has an easygoing balance: smooth grain sweetness and vanilla meet a refined wisp of smoke, so the character feels rounded rather than heavy. Citrus and orange peel add a brighter edge to the sweet caramel notes. The short to medium finish is a modest limitation, though lingering caramel and gentle smoke give it a little staying power. A welcoming style of blended whisky, with enough detail to keep it interesting.
