Cameronbridge Cameron Brig 12 Year Old, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

86 / 100

Cameron Brig keeps its appeal in a gentle, well-joined set of flavours: vanilla and light wood lead into sweet malt, spicy oak and ripe fruit, with apricot adding a clear point of difference. The finish stays light while its delicate sweetness lingers. I like that this single grain doesn’t need to make a fuss to give the notes some shape; the oak’s spice keeps the sweetness from feeling one-note. A quietly composed Scotch, with enough contrast to hold an enthusiast’s attention.
