Caol Ila Cask Strength 11 Year Old, Refill Sherry Cask, 2004, Gordon & MacPhail, 60.1%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

86 / 100

The medicinal notes give the peat a point of interest, while sherry sweetness and black cherries add a softer side. The finish sounds especially generous. This seems firmly peat-led rather than the tea- or herb-focused style I tend to favour.
