This reads as a warm, honeyed Chichibu, with floral notes and malt candy leading into licorice and a lingering, fireplace-like warmth. The high ABV is described as giving the nose a punch, so this seems more about warmth and intensity than the bright freshness I tend to prefer. Still, the milk biscuits and clear progression from sweetness to licorice give it more definition than vague praise would suggest. A reserved but appealing showing on the supplied notes.
