Cotswolds Single Malt Inaugural Release 3 Year Old, Bourbon & STR Red Wine Cask, Batch No. 01/2017, 2017, 46%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

86 / 100

There’s a clear pull toward richness here: dark treacle toffee, caramel and creamy notes give the palate a rounded, sweet core. Citrus and oak spice add a brighter, drier edge, so it doesn’t read as sweetness alone. The finish’s vanilla, dark chocolate and peppery oak sound like a satisfying continuation, with enough contrast to keep this from feeling heavy. Overall, the description points to a richly flavoured malt with lively accents.
