De Verloren Whisky Gevonden sinds 1969, Bourbon & Sherry Cask, Lot No. 16763, Dam Dranken, 43%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

86 / 100

The notes suggest a Scottish blend with a pleasing balance: salted caramel and stone fruit are brightened by citrus peel, while light smoke and oak give the palate a drier counterpoint. The nose sounds softer, with ripe pear and green apple, and the finish turns toward pepper, liquorice root and a mild salty note. I like that sweet and savoury elements both have a place here, without the description making the whisky sound especially heavy.
