There’s a pleasing push and pull between the syrupy, malty sweetness and the drier, slightly bitter edge. Caramel, vanilla fudge and candy sugar give the palate plenty of rounded sweetness, while salt and that dry finish keep it from feeling entirely soft. The nutty notes and mango add interest without crowding the main contrast. A composed, sweet-leaning Speyside character, though I’d prefer a little more spice in the mix.
