Four Roses Limited Edition Small Batch No. Bourbon, New Charred Oak Cask, 2014, 55.9%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

87 / 100

Orange zest and glazed maple make a promising opening, with fresh spearmint and allspice adding a livelier edge. The palate keeps that balance, pairing citrus and mellow honey with maple and mild clove spice. I like how the mint returns in the finish alongside lingering clove, rather than letting the sweeter notes dominate. It sounds layered and warmly spiced, with enough freshness to keep the maple character in check.
