Glen Grant 25 Year Old, Sherry Cask, Cask #107, 17, 18 & 19, 1964, Signatory Vintage, 46%

88 / 100

The Sherry Cask detail has a clear place here: dark berries and molasses on the nose lead into syrupy grapes, cocoa and dried fruits on the palate. That gives this 25-year-old Glen Grant a rich, balanced feel without making it sound all sweetness. The long finish brings coffee and caramelized bitterness, with a slightly dry edge that may not suit everyone. There’s plenty to enjoy in the contrast, and the cask character stays front and centre.
