Glen Grant Greatly Aged Whisky 50 Year Old, Sherry Hogshead Cask, 1955, Gordon & MacPhail, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

The Sherry Hogshead is a useful detail, and the nose’s prunes, dates and marmalade alongside beeswax and polished wood sounds rich without seeming one-note. The walnuts and gentle spices add interest while keeping the fruit at the centre.
