Glendronach Single Cask 11 Year Old, Pedro Ximenez Sherry Cask, Cask #3568, 2014, 53.3%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

91 / 100

The 11-year-old single-cask bottling is identified as Pedro Ximénez Sherry Cask, with the cask number and 2014 also stated. Its notes bring tropical fruit together with chocolate, dried fruit and wood spice, which gives the character both brightness and a richer side. The finish keeps that thread going with dulce de leche, ginger and oak. There’s a lot to follow here, but the cask details are refreshingly specific rather than mysterious paperwork.
