Glenfarclas The Family Cask Summer 32 Year Old, Sherry Butt Cask, Cask #5125, 2022, 51.3%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

The documented smoke is subtle, so this reads as fruit- and sherry-led rather than smoke-focused. “Unpeated” is the stated style, while the palate notes still describe a little smokiness. Ripe cherries and figs sit alongside toffee, dark chocolate and warm spice, with dried fruit, orange and tannins carrying into the finish. There is plenty of layered character here, though the smoke sounds more like a supporting detail than a defining feature.
