Glenlossie Petrichor Agricole 8 Year Old, Bourbon Cask, 2011, Scotch Malt Whisky Society, 58.7%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

86 / 100

This has an appealing tension between green, herbal notes and rounded sweetness. Hawthorn and chopped chives lead into bourbon biscuits and chocolate-covered honeycomb, while the palate shifts toward ferns, tobacco and pinecones alongside marzipan and salted caramel. That earthy turn keeps the sweeter elements from feeling one-note. The finish returns to fruit and creamy sweetness, with plum sauce, condensed milk and grape must. There’s plenty to follow here, even if the documented character leans more herbal and earthy than spicy.
