Glenturret 26 Year Old, Bourbon Cask, 1986, Hunter Laing, 46.8%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

88 / 100

There’s a pleasing balance here: the floral nose and pineapple keep the dates, honey and hard toffee from reading as one-note sweetness. On the palate, the sweet, fruity, honeyed character is joined by bourbon-cask influence, then the finish returns to toffee and dried fruit. That clear shift and return make this feel composed rather than merely rich. A strong fit for someone who likes sweetness with fruit detail.
