Grant's Triple Wood Smoky, American Oak, First-Fill Ex-Bourbon & Virgin American Oak Cask, 40%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

84 / 100

This feels like an approachable way into smoky blended whisky: the nose puts smoke alongside fruit, malted oats and toasted almonds, while the palate turns softer and sweeter with citrus, honey and vanilla. That shift gives it more balance than a smoke-first impression might suggest. Mellow wood spice keeps the palate rounded, though the dry tannin at the finish adds a firmer edge. A clear contrast between sweetness and smoke, rather than either one taking over.
