Ripe fruit and floral notes lead, then dried fruit, spice and a little nuttiness bring a warmer turn. Subtle wood and gentle sweetness round off the finish, making for a pleasing shift from bright to mellow. The Bourbon Cask detail is a welcome bit of context, while the character sounds most engaging in that fruit-to-spice contrast. A graceful, well-balanced direction for a 34-year-old Speyside malt.
