The appeal is the contrast between candied orange and cherries with cinnamon and nutmeg, then a richer palate of vanilla, butterscotch, and dark chocolate. That shift from fruit and baking spice to creamy, darker sweetness gives the notes a satisfying shape. Warm spice and oak carry through the long finish, which suits my interest in spice without making it the whole story.
