Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select, New Charred Oak Cask, Cask #18-0487, 2018, 45%

A Maltiply member's tasting notes and whisky impression.

87 / 100

The appeal here is the contrast between rich caramel and vanilla, and the drier oak and dark-fruit notes. The 45% ABV is a useful point of context, without needing to turn it into a claim about intensity or heat. Cinnamon and pepper carry through to a finish that is described as medium to long, with oak and leather alongside softer sweet notes. That mix gives this Tennessee whiskey a clear, layered character.
